Tuning is a critical element to making the package work.
I have a very similar setup including the Watson's.

BJ,

Just put on the UD pulleys and I have a set of VD heads in the garage. Based on my anecdotal evidence from 1/4 mile runs using the same track, the UD pulleys are worth about .7mph.

Dom, did you do your data logging from a rolling start? Otherwise, the ambiguity stemming from all the variable/interacting factors surrounding a consistent launch would obscure .7 mph, no?

Paul,

I did use the word "anecdotal" for that reason. I don't consider it scientific evidence however, it does provide a data point. I drive at Byron pretty consistently and .7mph is outside the typical variance I would expect with my driving. The UDs were the only change made since the last time at the track. Weather conditions were similar and somewhat warmer than last May when
I ran the 116.1. With an additional change to the calibration, the mph went up further. I look at trap speed because of the fact that it is less susceptible to variation from factors such as launch. In this instance, my launch in the previous run was better.
