Well I have the opporunity to buy a 2nd Z very cheap, they only problem is the car will have to either sit outside or I will need to fork over $100 per month for a garage space. This is a very high miler but not in bad shape.
Putting my wifes Mercedes CLK 500 outside is a non-option, and I am definately not moving my 92 w/21K miles outside. Is it a sin to park a Z outside in the Chicago winter? I already have the LT5 project going. But I would like to drive this car as is and make it into a Snakeskinner 3100lb car and maybe even drop the spare into it. I also have the Gen I dymags for it. Looking for your thoughts, I just cannot see dumping $100 per month in a parking spot for a car that I didn't pay much for. LGAFF 92 ZR1 #234 Last edited by LGAFF; 11-26-2008 at 11:03 PM. |

$100 a month is a drop in the bucket in my opinion.
However there are other options: http://www.carbag.com/products/products.html |

$4-500 to protect $15-20k investment = bad decision??
Sorry, I guess I just don't understand the math here... The carbag thing.. hmm from what I can see buying that would be over half what the winter storage costs would be - again it doesnt seem to compute. Just my two penneth...

Is all that money burning a hole in your pocket? I just can't relate. "It's not a sin to be poor! Just damn inconvenient."

Well it would be more like $1200 per year unless I park it outside in the summer and bring it in during the winter....$60 per month is not bad.

1200 is a drop in the bucket or i'd go used car cover for $60 and then that car bag for $300. That would keep all the snow and crap off your car. |
