Re: DIY euro tail lights
The bulb sockets for these are specific to the housing and the part number is AC DELCO LS39 and LS96. The wiring at the brake switch has to be modified but I can't remember how,I'm sure somebody will have the info here.

Re: DIY euro tail lights
The brake light signal can be had by tapping into the CHMSL circuit. Much easier than doing it at the brake switch.

Re: DIY euro tail lights
If I remember correct you can tap into the 3rd brake light wire to work the brake bulbs, you will also need to cut the white wire coming out of the turn signal connector at the bottom of the steering column to keep from having electrical feed back. I did this euro light conversion 20+ years ago, still have the ZR1.

Re: DIY euro tail lights
I ran a new wire from the dash to the back for the brake lights. There is a reason for 2 brake light switches. I cut the wire under the dash to by pass the turn signal flashing. but then ran the new wire from to the back of the car..
Since my taillight harness had been messed with prior to me owning I just rebuilt it with the euro sockets and soldered everything

I popped the white wire out of the harness connector. Then ran a wire from the targa hoop down to the back and used scotchlock for connection to harness I built.
